My friend Lynne asked me if I was trying to make kitchen sink ice cream while making a batch of kitchen sink cookies the other day. My friend accepted the challenge and thanks for your advice!

It’s full of loads and can’t stuff more into it, full of awesome creamy vanilla ice cream, cookies, toffee shreds, toasted coconut, peanut butter cups, peanut butter, and other things you might want to add.

Everything except kitchen sink ice cream

Ben & Jerry describes their “everything but kitchen sink ice cream” as “a collision of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups, fudge-covered toffee, white chocolate bars and fudge-covered almonds”.

Oh, and blessing you, Ben and Jerry, but I think our homemade version is much better. I mean, cookies; our cookies have cookies and toasted coconut!

The beauty of making this product at home is that you can make yourself by adding anything else you want and omitting anything fancy that doesn’t work for you. Does it feel like roasted almonds will make it sing? Keep adding them! Don’t like coconuts very much? Kick to the side of the road!

To make this ice cream everything except the kitchen sink, you need the following ingredients:

  • Heavy cream
  • Whole milk
  • sugar
  • Kosher salt
  • Vanilla extract

And any or all of the following add-ons:

  • cookie
  • nut
  • coconut
  • Miniature Chocolate Chips
  • Toffee
  • Micro M&M
  • Miniature Peanut Butter Cup
  • Chopped candy bars
  • sprinkle

Mix the cream, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla extract in a large bowl and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into the ice cream manufacturer and stir according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

When the ice cream stirred, 2 cups of your favorite add-ons were collected. When the ice cream is finished stirring, place a portion of the oop into an airtight container and generously sprinkle various add-ons. Repeat these layers until all ice cream and loaders are used.

Put in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve with extra cookies or toppings if needed.
