Chicken and dumplings

This old-fashioned chicken and dumpling recipe is a comfort food classic that the whole family will love.

Preparation time 30 minute

Cooking time 1 Hour 15 minute

Total time 1 Hour 45 minute

  • In a large stock pot, mix together chicken, onion, carrots, celery, salt, pepper and bay leaves.

  • Add chicken broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer for 45-60 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and cooked. While the broth is boiling, prepare the dumplings below.

  • Strain the broth through cheese cubes. Chopped or chopped chicken and discarded skin and bones. If needed (or discard), chop the vegetables. Set aside.

  • Pour the nervous broth back into the pan. Bring to a boil, gently adding dumplings to the broth. Reduce heat and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until tender.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
