German Potato Salad – Nude in the Kitchen

Just like I love classic potato salads (which is proven, there are a dozen potato salad recipes on this site), sometimes you need something different.

As a result, this summer, I really like the mayonnaise-free salad. This broccoli salad is so good that I have lost track of how many times I have made it. Mayonnaise-free salads are stress-free for cans and grills, and there is no need to rush to get the refrigerator into the refrigerator as quickly as possible or keep it as cold as possible.

One last thing about the ingredients and then we go on to the recipe. The final ingredient is fresh parsley, especially in this case, more than just food glitter. Parsley contributes more than just green to this dish.

The freshness of parsley lights up the flavor well and helps balance the richness of potatoes and bacon. It’s a simple ingredient that provides a lot to the end result.

Potato salad with bacon

Today, bacon is often added to the Petri dish. What if I tell the truth? I don’t always like it. However, in some cases, some bacon adds a new flavor, thus changing the entire dish.

  • Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Boil over high heat until fork feeder, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside to cool.

  • While the potatoes are boiling, cook the bacon in a Dutch oven or large skillet over medium heat. Fry until brown and crisp, about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. (Bacon can also be cooked in the oven.) Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel lined plate and roughly chop or shredded when cooled. Reserve about 3 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan.

  • Add the onions to the bacon grease and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes until browned and tender. Add vinegar, sugar, water, salt and pepper to a boil.

  • When the liquid boils, carefully transfer the cooked potatoes to the pan with half of the bacon. Stir gently to warm and coat thoroughly. If necessary, transfer to the dish. Sprinkle parsley and remaining bacon before serving.

German potato salads tend to be a little sweet. Original recipe requirements for this salad ⅓ Sugar. My taste has decreased. I also added bacon in the recipe because we like to use potatoes. You can also adjust your taste at will.
