Frito Pie Casserole – Nudity in the Kitchen

Frito Pie Casserole is a massive, multi-friendly version of walking tacos. Seasoned taco meat with beans topped with melted cheese and crunchy corn flakes. If you want to use it for a meal, like tacos and lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions and cilantro!

I’m sure you’re familiar with tacos, sometimes called Frito Pie. This is the version you made when you want to feed the crew and don’t want to bother with a bunch of nachos from snack bags.
The meal hiding all the irresistible qualities of walking tacos in the form of a convenient casserole, the meal shines. If you are lucky enough to have three to four cups of the best taco meat left, you’re even closer to dinner on the table.


Frito Chili Pie
Although taco meat is usually our choice of casserole protein, you can easily swap for your favorite chili in three to four cups. Whether you choose hearty pepper chili, spicy five bean steak and sausage chili, or even vegetarian four beans and chili chili, everyone on the table will love this dish!
This Frito Pie Casserole recipe is as easy as two thirds. This is just one question of layering the ingredients in the baking tray and sending it in a quick trip in the oven.


If you choose to start with refrigeration, leftover meat or chili, add a few minutes during the cooking time!

Cook and collapse in cooked beef in large skillet on medium-high heat. Sprinkle taco seasoning while cooking. After browning the meat, add the beans and stir to mix.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Pour half of the Fritos into an 8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with about 2 cups of cheese and sprinkle with beef and bean mixture. Top with the remaining cheese. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the cheese melts.

Remove from the oven and serve with leftover Fritos topped with other favorite toppings.
