Sour cream ice cream – red meal in the kitchen

Creamy and sweet, rich in flavor, yogurt ice cream bright and refreshing in the cone, coated with a slice of apple crisp, or scalled into a bowl and topped with warm berry jam.

I think if buttermilk works well in ice cream, why not try sour cream in a batch of ice cream? I’m glad to say that the ice cream is great. Just a hint of lingering from every taste of ice cream.
The first dessert I made used sour cream in a sweet way, is a layered lemon cheesecake that has an irresistible sweet sour cream filling that guests are always surprised.
Similarly, vanilla bean sour cream turns a modest grape salad into something absolutely crave. While sour cream may not be the first thing I think of dessert making, it is an interesting twist on the traditional simple dessert flavor.


Ice cream with sour cream
You will need the following ingredients to make this ice cream:
- sour cream
- sugar
- Kosher salt
- Heavy cream
- milk
- Vanilla extract

To make this ice cream, first stir the sour cream, sugar and salt. When the mixture is smooth, slowly add the cream while stirring constantly. Add milk and vanilla extract. Stir again to combine.
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.
