Steak Butter – Spend money
  • smell: Rich lemon zest, smoked paprika, salted garlic and earthy grass create a delicious layer for this steak butter.
  • Save time: Forgot soft butter? Cut it into small cubes and microwave until soft but not melted.
  • Suggestions: Not only do you want steak, this herbal butter is also carefully selected on pork chops, vegetables, mashed potatoes or toasted French bread.
  • storage: Fresh garlic provides the best flavor, but not for long. In the refrigerator for only 1 week or 2 weeks. Want it to last longer? Use jarred garlic or garlic powder instead.

Simple ingredients

  • butter: Use unsalted butter so you can control the saltiness. Make sure it softens so that everything blends smoothly. Real butter (not margarine!) offers the best flavor and richness.
  • Seasoning: You can swap fresh garlic for jarred garlic or garlic powder, and don’t be shy about using a lot of salt for the best flavor. Steak butter is hard to go wrong, so feel free to try out the spices!

Fresh herbs always give the best flavor, because the flavor will intensify as the butter ages. However, if there are no fresh herbs, or if you want to try experimenting with dry herbs in the pantry, find the same substitute.

Restaurants worth the change

  • Use roasted garlic for a richer steak butter and adds flavor.
  • If you plan to use steak butter on pork or chicken, use rosemary and chives.
  • Add a little homemade pesto sauce to serve pasta, or baked salmon filet with sun-dried tomatoes, lemon juice and basil or dill.
